Hi Natalie-- that is so funny-- you found my blog. I am still working on it and really just getting it started! Jon is definitely a wine "geek" -- I am the beneficiary of great wines! We were also somewhat disappointed with Sonoma Mission. Overall, Napa is an amazing place and we plan to go back in October with a bunch of wine friends. We'll have to get in on the private picnic with phelps- thanks for the tip!

It sounds like quite a tour. I dated a wine "geek" for 5 years and we spent a ton of time in Napa. We stayed at Sonoma Mission once and were disappointed. Great places in Napa but I highly recommend Auberge or Meadowood. They are also able to get you in to some tiny, but very old wineries. I saw at the end you did Phelps. Next time, if you call them yourself and explain that you are a true buyer, they will give you a private picnic in the vineyard. They will also pull out at least 2 old Insignias. It is an experience not to be missed. French Laundry would be great for you and they have a vegetarian option for Laura. I love Tra Vigna for a late lunch. Mustards very fun as well. Thanks for reviews. Were great!
